We just arrived in town and checked in with our Airbnb lady and then headed for the nearest fish n chippie place, which happened to be this place.
It looked to be full, but glad we went in as they had an entire dining room available upstairs too which had an empty table for our group of 3. Between the three of us,we got haddock with chips and mushy peas for £5.95 and then the cod bites with new potatoes (basically boiled potatoes). My brother and I also split a carafe of white wine for £3.95.
So the food that arrived finally was scrumptious and as a size indication, honestly massive doesn't begin to describe it, more like gigantic or galactic. The fish was pipping hot and crispy. The fries were "proper" hand cut chips that tasted awesome. Mushy peas tasted fresh and another stand out was the baked beans, and that bowl was licked clean. Frankly the cod bites were so big, all three of us could have shared that one plate easily enough.
Service was really friendly and helpful and yay! We got tap water here for no charge! They also got us lemons and bread slices. I had wanted dessert but simply no space in my tummy.
Our total came to around £30, which was great for the size of the meal. If am in this area long enough, would absolutely go back and highly recommend!

By far the best fish and chips in Belfast!
There's a sit in practically opposite the take away shop on the Lisburn road
The portion size is definitely enough for 2 people
Also comes with free bread and butter and a free side
There's seating upstairs and a table or 2 outside too
As far as the battered Cod - it is so fresh and soft with perfect batter and large chunky chips
Definitely give it a go -

Excellent quality of fish and chips here - of a standard rare in Northern Ireland, ie light batter. Try the gherkins as a side.

My boyfriend didn't believe me when I told him they did the best chippy chips in town. But he soon changed his mind.
Always busy, if you are looking your fish and chip supper on the way home from work on a Friday, be prepared to queue, but the staff are always working as fast as they can.
Great fresh food and for the Lisburn road, not too expensive. -

Called in last minute for a quick feed. I had the chicken bites supper with curry sauce with a coke. Great wee place for a sit in chip shop. It was good value for money and the staff were very intentive and polite.
